It’s still dark. Who else is waiting on the Sun, but me. It’s the glorious after hours of a night that ended peacefully. I had put a roast in late, and was planning to take it out at 11pm. I set my alarm and read for a while. Woke up to almost roast time. The roast beast smelled good enough to wake me. I was waiting to take it out in a few more minutes, and my oldest daughter stopped over. Perfect timing, because it was the best one I ever made. It was cooked in a cast iron Dutch oven. I used turnips and carrots, with portobello mushrooms and onions, cooked slooooow on looow. 6lbs. @ 275 degrees @4 hours.
We had a feast till midnight. What a wonderful spontaneous suprise. It is a challenge to wrangle kids and grandkids together for Christmas. So glad all my daughters came by already this week for a suprise visit. Tis the Season To Be Jolly. I am grateful and humbled by the Divine Mother, bowed in awe.
